Product Description
A rare runway-era piece from Christian Dior by John Galliano’s 2001 FW collection, featuring the highly recognizable Miss Dior-ella visual language translated into an elaborate pair of wide-leg denim trousers.
Constructed from vintage blue denim, the jeans feature an intentionally distressed and reconstructed appearance, combining contrasting denim panels with sections of black coated/leather-effect fabric, multiple utility pockets, exposed zippers and layered construction. The wide-leg silhouette gives the piece a distinctly early-2000s Galliano attitude, while the extensive surface treatment makes it feel much closer to a collectible runway garment than a conventional pair of jeans.
The most distinctive details are the numerous Miss Dior-ella patches, graphic badges and playful appliqué elements distributed across the front and back. Together with the raw distressed denim, graffiti-like graphics, metal hardware and asymmetrical patchwork construction, these details create the rebellious, irreverent character associated with Galliano’s Dior collections of the period.
The garment carries the original Christian Dior Boutique Paris label and is Made in France, with the period sizing label indicating FR 38 / GB 10 / D 36 / USA 6.
A particularly strong example of early-2000s John Galliano Dior denim, combining runway-era construction, Miss Dior-ella graphics and an exaggerated wide-leg silhouette. An excellent archival piece for collectors of Galliano-era Dior and early-2000s fashion.
